Acolytes

WHAT WE ARE ABOUT
We
are people, young and old, whose joy it is to share in the duties of
worship and to assist the clergy as needed. Acolytes have served in
various parts of Church life and worship for hundreds of years.
MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES
Acolytes
may be used at any service, but times such as Christmas, Easter, and
other special occasions provide extra opportunities for acolytes to
serve.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Acolytes
are an integral part of the worship leadership team. Their careful and
reverent role in the Liturgy serves as a model in worship. Acolytes are
responsible for lighting candles, carrying the processional cross and
torches, distributing the offertory plates, and assisting the priest
prepare for communion. Much of the training is “on the job;” training
is also provided for specific occasions.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED
Anyone
who desires additional information is encouraged to ask the priest,
acolyte master, or Eucharistic ministers or please contact St.
