Daughters of the King
Prayer and Service
For His Sake
WHAT
WE ARE ABOUT
The
Daughters of the King (DOK) is an Order for laywomen who are
communicants of the Episcopal Church, or churches in communion with it.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Prayer is
the foundation from which our service grows. We find the Order of
Daughters of the King to be a safe place in a busy world where we come
together and support each other in Christ’s love. Each Daughter of the
King takes a lifetime vow to live by the Rule of the Order. Our Rule of
Life requires a commitment to daily prayer and service. We also
dedicate ourselves to spreading Christ’s kingdom and strengthening the
spiritual life of our congregations.
About the Cross
The
emblem of the Order is in the form of a modified Greek fleury cross
inscribed in Latin, “Magnanimiter Crucem Sustine”, meaning “With heart,
mind and spirit, uphold and bear the cross.”

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES
Through
her Rule of Service, a Daughter seeks daily to do the will of God and be
Christ’s faithful servant. She promises to take part regularly in the
worship, study, and work of the Church and render, at all times, aid to
the clergy as requested for the building-up of the congregation.

OUR
PLANS AND FUTURE
Empowered
by the Holy Spirit, our vision as
Daughters of the King is to know Jesus
Christ, to make Him known to others, and to become reflections of God’s
love throughout the world.
